PLACEHOLDER — REVIEW BEFORE SUBMISSION

This is a working draft written to match how the app is built (local-first, on-device data). Apple requires a live privacy policy URL in App Store Connect, and the answers here must match your Privacy Nutrition Label answers exactly. Have it reviewed before you submit, and update every section marked PLACEHOLDER.

Overview

Platebook is a training application for iOS. This policy explains what data the app handles, where that data lives, and what choices you have.

Data stored on your device

Platebook is local-first. Your training data is stored in a database on your device, including:

Data we collect

PLACEHOLDER — describe any analytics, crash reporting or diagnostics here, or state plainly that none are collected.

AI coach features

The AI coach is off by default and can be enabled or disabled at any time in Settings. While it is off, no training data leaves your device for AI purposes.

When it is on, your messages and the training context needed to answer them — the relevant parts of your programs, sessions and estimates — are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate a response.

The coach uses your own API key, which you supply and which is stored in the device keychain — your usage is billed to your account by Anthropic, and the developer neither sees nor handles that traffic or its billing.

PLACEHOLDER — state the provider's retention period and whether API data is used to train models, with a link to their policy.

Health data

PLACEHOLDER — if the app reads from or writes to Apple Health, list the exact data types and state that Health data is never used for advertising and is not shared with third parties. If HealthKit is not used in the shipped build, remove this section.

Backups and iCloud

PLACEHOLDER — describe whether the app's database is included in device backups and whether any iCloud sync is offered.

Data sharing

PLACEHOLDER — state whether data is sold or shared with advertisers or data brokers, and list any service providers that receive data on your behalf.

Your choices

Children

Platebook is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
